Sylvester Construction Services, Inc., a privately owned general contractor, specializing in high-end residential construction and in the historic preservation of homes in upscale communities is currently seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to enhance capabilities of current staff. Sylvester Construction Services, Inc. is located on the near North side of Chicago and a current member of the Green Building Council.
The qualified candidate will work with an experienced project manager and have site authority and responsibility for the day-to-day scheduling of projects including coordination with architects, subcontractors, clients and vendors. Must have a thorough understanding of the plans and specifications of a project to ensure that all trades are adhering to appropriate specifications and that project is being implemented in a safe, cost effective, efficient and timely manner.
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual that possesses excellent organizational and communication skills that interacts well in a team environment. This position requires a HS diploma, an Associate’s Degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years experience as a supervisor or superintendent of construction projects is required with a basic knowledge of multiple trades a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Projects is required.
