This firm is a New York-based alternative investment management firm, which currently manages approximately $13 billion. The Firm’s investment approach is fundamental and research-intensive, focusing on long/short credit and event-driven opportunities.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Middle Office Department is currently comprised of approximately 13 people with responsibility for a broad range of functions, including: fund accounting; trade processing and reconciliation; operations; position, P&L; and exposure reporting; valuation; risk management design and reporting; and liquidity management.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This individual will be responsible for uploading trades to prime broker and into accounting software, reconciling positions and cash to prime broker, preparing and executing wire transfer memos for funds, confirming trades with prime broker and counterparties and confirming open transactions and valuations with OTC derivatives counterparts.

Assist in the pricing of the month end portfolio and coordinating the execution of and accounting for corporate actions and reorganizations.

Serve as the liaison with prime brokers, counterparties and clearing organizations to resolve discrepancies.

REQUIREMENTS
* 1-3 years total work experience within a hedge fund, prime broker and/or operations background
* Strong undergraduate academic performance
* Good computer skills and data management abilities
* Attention to detail and ability to organize priorities, resolve issues, and escalate when appropriate
* Must be a self-starter and a quick learner
* Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
