Position Title: Board Liaison
Salary: TBD (Part-time 10-15 p/wk)
Reports to: Director, Governance and Chapter Relations
Summary:
This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the activities of the board. This position will facilitate the communications and coordination of the board with relevant aspects of publishing, meeting planning, marketing and recruitment and retention efforts for the membership category as needed.
* Partners with the board to provide day-to-day coordination of their work.
* Provides a consistent method of communication the day-to-day needs of the board members to staff as needed on an ongoing regular basis; prepares presentations for Board of Directors as assigned.
* Assists in the creation and implementation of board agendas and participates in conference calls as needed.
* Is aware of the budgets and works in conjunction with staff to remain within budget.
* Works in conjunction with staff to facilitate the flow of information between various departments and the Board.
* Serves as staff liaison to committees, and other workgroups as appointed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Three to five years in association management with direct experience working with volunteer leadership required;
* Experience with special interest groups. Program committees or client associations working in collaboration with a larger organization;
* Experience working with a board. Including the development of meeting agendas, preparation of background information, meeting management in partnership with volunteer leaders, and the communication of meeting outcomes;
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
In addition, successful candidates at this level in the organization must exhibit the following skills and behaviors:
* Excellent written, oral and presentation skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; and internet search engines.
* Ability to plan and organize

Education and Experience:
* A minimum of three years of related experience working directly with volunteers in an association environment.
Comments:
This position works closely with the Board of Director and committees including teleconference, face-to-face Board meetings, and conferences. This position requires the ability for some evening and weekend work and the ability to travel.
