Multi-entity waste management company located in Northern Bay Area is looking for an Accounting Assistant to work in their Santa Rosa office. This is a full time position reporting to the Interim Controller. Requirements: ** Education - Minimum of Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
** Previous work history - minimum of six months in a mid-level accounting position
** Organized
** Strong attention to detail
** Able to deal with multiple tasks at once
** Proficient in Excel, Word and general accounting software (Great Plains experience a plus & is preferred) Job Duties & Responsibilities: ** Daily posting & reconciling of bank accounts
** Weekly entry of payroll data
** Assist Interim Controller with preparation & entry of monthly journal entries
** Reconcile balance sheet accounts & prepare associated work papers
** Act as back up for Accounts Payable, when staff member is sick or on vacation
** Special projects as directed
** Filing as required
