Miniature Ambitions focuses on a man about to turn 30 and realizing that he has not done much with his life.  He, therefore, sets some ambitions but realizes things like climbing Mt. Fuji and sleeping with a super model are out of his current reach.  He then renews his ambitions to more attainable feats making it Miniature Ambitions. Along his journey he meets characters of various backgrounds that bring a differing perspectives and advise for life. It is comedy with a slight Wes Anderson influence.
All the characters while living in the real world are slight charactatures allowing the actors to really flex their creative muscles and have fun with their roles.  The dialog is rich and witty with a strong plot that speaks to relatable struggles with touches of surrealist humor.

We will introduce the film at the Castro Theater Feb. 7th.  We then be taking an extended version to run the film festival circuit. While this is currently an unpaid job we are starting with this short in hopes of raising funding for the feature length film. Our standards of quality and creativity are set very high and this will no doubt be a piece to be proud of.

Please provide a resume, jpeg headshot and a link to any past work. Casting will be held Tuesday the 2nd and Thursday the 4th.

Boris:
Our protagonist approaching the big 30 with little to show for himself is hoping to quickly amend this. He is a good looking guy but this is hidden by careless shabbiness. Funny in slightly a sad way like a young Bill Murray. Boris is smart but this has been diminished with lack of will and use.

Zen Man:
Zen Man follows a mix of eastern philosophy and hippie mentality. He learned kung-fu from Japanese masters and presents a sort of Yoda meets Jerry Garcia character. He tries to help Boris find solace in his meager existence, pointing out that accomplishments within are more important that accomplishments in the physical world.

Dr. Schuster:
Dr. Shuster is a brilliant professor who has been researching a theory that tries to explain the very core of our existence. He is convinced that we do not "exist" in the formal sense, but that we are rather small clumps of energy, all connected to a large body of energy. (we're made of atoms, and atoms are empty inside, they are just bubbles of energy, not solid matter - that means we're not really solid matter) The Dr. now focuses on making alternative fuel vehicles as well  (with the vw as the guinea pig) He is going to enlighten Boris with his theories, further putting this thing we call "life" into perspective.

Delilah:
Younger but wiser sister of Boris, she reads at a PHD level and writes equally well. Witty and sarcastic she is not a nerd in a any sense.  Delilah is a forward thinking 12 year old with an outlook of an old soul.  Her interests, knowledge and gumption are as well formed as a seasoned older man.  However, she still maintains a certain edgy spunk, perspective and lingo that expose her true age.  She is the guiding light that starts Boris on his journey.

Razu:
Born in war torn Somalia, Razu has fought and overcome much struggle. Colorful and aggressive he draws upon his past as a motivational writer advertising his book on public access. He has killed lions and succeeded in business. Razu is an energetic get things done man that need not trifle with edict.

Creep:
A typical creepy man using the guise of being a photographer to seduce women. He is not ugly but with his creepy demeanor he is neither attractive.

Gisel:
A local female model, Gisel is the damsel in distress. She has high hopes of making the big time but won't compromise her morals to get there. We look forward to hearing from you!
