We are an established contract engineering firm. Our designs are extremely varied. As a result, our engineers spend their time doing engineering for a wide variety of applications from underwater to space, Medical, consumer and industrial applications. This position is an ideal opportunity for an engineer with a wide range of interests and experience.
Most of our projects involve embedded control applications using Xilinx and MicroChip products and a real-time kernel operating system.

Responsibilities:
* Works with customers and users to develop design and development estimates, product requirements and designs.
* Designs, develops, maintains, and documents firmware and software components to be applied to engineering, scientific, and manufacturing requirements.
* Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
* Prepare and maintain detailed design and test documentation.
* Write test plans and conduct design tests.
* Conduct peer reviews for both hardware and firmware
* Develop hardware description language (VHDL or Verilog)
* Develop software specifications and actively participate in preparation of system level specifications.
* Design embedded firmware/software using structured methods.

Qualifications:
* U.S. Citizen
* B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science - equivalent or better.
* Education and substantial experience (15+ years) in either of the following areas:
o Embedded systems firmware development including real-time firmware design
o Familiar with C, C++ and assembly languages
o object oriented design
* Familiarity with electrical design.
* Control system background and understanding
* Ability to quickly read and understand legacy systems.
* DSP experience is desirable.
* Broad engineering background
